Great GRACE

"With great power the apostles gave their testimony to the resurrection of the Lord Jesus, and great grace was upon them all."

(Acts 4:33)

The early church was an incredible time! So many amazing things were taking place. People were being healed. Folks from all "walks and talks" of life and locations around the Mediterranean were coming to have faith in God. But above all else, the church lived out what Jesus had instructed: to love each other the way he had loved them.

Acts 4:34 says there weren't any "needy" people in the early church... because whenever a need arose, the church (i.e. community of people) took care of it. People shared, gave, sacrificed, and loved.

The author tells us that the apostles gave their testimony to the power of Jesus. And... "great grace was upon them all." I love that! GREAT GRACE! God's grace and peace filled everyone. And it overflowed within them, exploding out to others. It was contagious and attractive. And transformational.

In this time of "social distancing" and the COVID-19 pandemic, life has been upended for all of us. Nothing is as it was before... nor will it be for some time to come. BUT... by the grace of God, we have an opportunity to testify to God's transforming power in Christ Jesus. And share God's grace. GREAT GRACE. (You might even say, "amazing" grace!). AMEN.
