"Two great tastes!"

"Steadfast love and faithfulness will meet; righteousness and pace will kiss each other. Faithfulness will spring up from the ground, and righteousness will look down from the sky."

(Psalm 85:10-11)

Who could forget the iconic Reese's Peanut Butter Cup commercial - where two people would accidentally run into each other, and the chocolate from one would get mixed in with the peanut butter from another... and lo, and behold, it was a match made in heaven! ("Two great tastes in one candy bar!") Of course, everyone knows how AMAZING of a combination that is!

I love the "combos" found in Psalm 85:10-11. There are two very powerful ones: "steadfast love and faithfulness," and "righteousness and peace."

The first duo: steadfast love & faithfulness are stellar! We all need someone to LOVE us without wavering! And then to know that person will also be FAITHFUL no matter what... wow! Imagine the environment that will create for one's development, maturation, and growth?!?

Then we come to RIGHTEOUSNESS. I'd venture that many of us strive for this in our lives. To both know what's "right" (not just legally, but also morally & ethically)... and to do what's right as well! Plus PEACE. To create an atmosphere that's non-combative and non-argumentative... to help others feel at ease and comfortable?!? Perfect!

Steadfast love & faithfulness.

Righteousness & peace.

Two great combos (right up there with peanut butter and chocolate!). Goals for us to strive for, of course. But how comforting to know that's how GOD works in OUR LIVES! May WE endeavor to model that, as well.
